We went to Charleston for a wedding. Believe it or not, a large group of people still can't completely distract you from the fact that the streets of downtown Charleston are literally covered in horse & donkey ****. If you want to surround yourself with horse ****, then that's cool. It's just a fact that I wouldn't be trumpeting as loudly as you are, else others will think there's something wrong with you

Maybe it's not as bad during the winter since they may keep the livestock out of downtown streets, but any time you're a coastal city & your selling point is, hey at least the city doesn't smell like **** during the winter, then you may need to rethink how you run said city

I would far rather visit Wilmington than Charleston. As for North Charleston, it's a legit example of a police state, err, police city

I have no idea what you're talking about. I spent summers there growing up as a kid & lived there for two years in the late 90's and still visit every few years. I have never experienced anything like what you described. I have lived in N. Charleston and Charleston Heights and never got the feeling of a police state. Charleston is the most beautiful city I have ever seen. The Battery, Rainbow Row, Charlestown Landing, etc, etc.

OMG so excited.

Finally got the offer letter...20k increase over what I make today, plus stock options, 401k, bonus eligible...WOW this is exciting.

Main problem is I want to give my current employer 3 or 4 weeks for a smooth transition. The new company wants me in California on Jan 7th. So I'd have to give my notice tomorrow at the latest....arrrrgh

well my new employer is a client of my current employer, so its best to play nice...otherwise lawsuits and sour grapes come into play

I started the dialogue, and my current company wants me to stay on...but they will let me fly to Cali with the new company for a week...so it may work out
