Baseball Mogul 2014: Status Update Thread

It turns out that the clocks on my two development systems (Windows 7 and Windows 8) were 24 hours apart. That is, they had the same time but not the same date. Not sure how this happened right before launching the game, but I'm going to blame Windows 8. This led to a large number of problems including over-writing some roster files and code. Luckily, it's all backed up in Perforce, but it took some time to unravel the details.
Version 16.09 is now live. To upgrade, click "Check For Updates" on the Help Menu. Or visit this page.

All the files in entire game have also been updated. So, you can re-download the entire game using your original confirmation email. (And if you haven't bought the game yet, your purchase will link directly to this version).

We have also just posted Version 16.10 here.

Is this the complete update? Is there still another coming end of the month?

Not that I am a Mets fan, but Zach Wheeler should have quite a bit more potential than he does, as should Travis D'Arnaud. In general a lot of the top 100 prospects in baseball should have a bit more potential.

We're getting there, slowly but surely. But a lot of the ratings are still a bit harsh.

    a couple of things.

    1) At the end of games, the game s crashing after announcing the final score (before one can go back to the team calendar)
    2) you have one pitcher age 98, with the scouting report announcing that he is the best 98 year old pitcher they have ever scene (i would hope so). there are sever other players over 50, including Mike Jacobs. there is anther player named ddddddddddddddddddddddddd.
    3) Bryce Harper is still rated very low, as is pujols
    4) the strategies section for pitchers is not working. i have tried to set pitch counts for my pitchers, but they do not apply, and the drop box always reverts back to the same player

The Braves are still missing several from their 40 man roster, including Evan Gattis, David Hale, Juan Jaime, Aaron Northcraft, and Cory Rasmus.

Oakland A's.....Scott Sizemore is active and not on the disabled list this season. He shows up on the DL at the start of the A's season for 215 days. Ouch!
Still on DL after the 16.04 patch.

Much better...things are steadily improving. Might hold off playing for a patch or two more though.

Clay, as far as the Nats:

Candy Maldonado is a 52-year-old catcher in my minor league system. Which is kind of awesome but clearly inaccurate.
Alex Meyer was traded to the Twins for Span, but is still on the roster.

Do second perhaps upgrading Harper's starting point a little.

The rest I think I can live with, although I've been hoping for years now you could upgrade Adam LaRoche to the slick fielder he is.

    Good luck!!

yeah, i think harper and trout both have starting points to low. trout is easily an 88 as of now and harper prob an 86. you know they are too low because in a fantasy draft, the computer doesnt take trout until the second round and harper doesnt go until the 6th. in reality, they would both go top 10. maybe that will change a bit when the salaries are all fixed.
I have noticed the group of 50+ year minor leaguers. one old catcher is named candy maldonado. there is also a 49 y/o catcher named brady anderson. but my favorite is still the 98 year old reliever

So is it a bug that there is no R ball or was this game designed without a R ball? Just curious.

It's intentional. I am now loading minor league stats from many levels, so I group them into "Triple-A" (including competitive foreign leagues like Mexico and Japan, and unaffiliated leagues like the PCL in the 1950s), "Double-A" (including "A-1", most "B" leagues, etc.) and "Low Minors" (including foreign rookie leagues, short A, advanced A, D leagues etc.)

Just gonna throw this out there, but I have a pitcher in Double-A who died at 101 years old -- in 1990!

Re: Baseball Mogul 2014: Status Update Thread

I wrote a longer post and lost it as the forum logged me off, but to sum it up:

    1. The Toronto Blue Jays roster still includes many players who don't play for the Blue Jays, and in some cases haven't for a year. Really, Eric Thames is a Mariner now.

    2. The ratings for the guys who ARE Blue Jays are, in many cases, nuts. Adam Lind is not as good a hitter as Edwin Encarnacion, R.A. Dickey is not a worse pitcher than Kyle Drabek, and so on. And a lot of injured players are listed as healthy.

The roster just is not correct.

Honestly, I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that accurate AA stats aren't in the top 100 things I'd like to see fixed/improved. (Why, or why do statistics display with the most recent year on top when nobody else in the whole world does that?) I'd like the rosters to be correct and to have ratings that accurately reflect the skills of the players.
